Flat head machine screws
Flat head screws play a critical role in aerospace engineering, allowing for a strong bond between multiple components. The nature of a flat head screw is such that the head can be countersunk into the component part, allowing it to sit flush with, or below, the surface. Flat head machine screws can be tailored to meet each client’s needs in terms of size, thread size, type of metal, and driver type, and countersink angle. Socket, slotted and cruciform heads are available; CalScrew’s skilled technicians will advise on the best specifications for each product based on the client’s needs. While slotted heads tend to be advisable in situations where the screw may need to be removed regularly, a cruciform head allows for higher torque and is, therefore, often recommended in situations where stronger joints are required, and where the assembly will endure high levels of vibration.
